Do you have any U.S. coins from before 1977? Some of those coins are actually 90% silver in weight and now sell for up to 20 U.S. paper dollars.

Do you know how much your coins are worth? This calculator will help you convert back and forth between silver coins and U.S. paper dollars. Find out the prices of “junk silver” coins from the U.S. Mint including pre-1965 dimes.  The Silver Calculator now includes Pre 1965 90% silver coins, 40% US coins from 1965-1976, The US War Nickel, Us Silver Eagle, Silver Canadian Coins Pre 1967, 1 OZt Canadian Maple leaf and the Mexican “Libertad” bullion rounds. The App also includes silver bullion rounds in 1/10, 1/4,  1/2 and 1 oz denominations. from privet mints to represent “generic” silver rounds. We have also started experimenting with  laminated cards with 1 and 5 grams of silver in them, known as Shire Silver and also DTOM Silver Dime Cards. I just recently noticed that there are two 1965-1976 coins shown in the Android app – half dollar and dollar – and their value implies that they have ~30% silver content. I’ve looked at some other sources on the web, and apparently Kennedy halves from 1965-1970 are 40%, with 1971 on having no silver content, and Eisenhower dollars after 1964 have no silver content at all.

I have some Kennedy halves 1971-1976, so if you know something that I haven’t been able to discover, I’d love to hear about it.

    Thanks.
